Silk Screening @ SCRAP

I went to a silk screening workshop at SCRAP, a creative reuse depot, this Saturday. We learned a non-photo emulsion way of applying an image to a screen and printing. The best part was that we got to go through SCRAP and pick out any materials at the depot we wanted to print on.

First I drew my picture with blue screen drawing fluid and coated everything with screen filler. You can see a ghost image of a dog/some circles - that's just left over from a previous design and shouldn't effect how my print turns out.

Then I rinsed off the drawing fluid, which acted as the resist for the filler. The screen is ready to print!

I then printed the image on a some fabrics I found, as well as a typography calendar.
